On February 15th, we enjoyed a wonderful morning session at CEIP Ntra. Sra. de la Encarnación in Abenójar alongside all the students, teachers, and families, as part of the “1st Sustainable Mining Conference” promoted by ADS Valle de Alcudia and the European C4C program.

Talks and educational activities

We extend our thanks to Pedro Mesas Riballo, chartered director of Inmíner Ingeniería S.L., for his informative talk on mining and tungsten delivered to the schoolchildren, as well as to Laura López Chacón (environmental officer at FOMECAM) and María Rosa Simón Moreno (development manager at Abenójar Tungsten) for coordinating the drawing competition. The winners received school supplies as prizes, provided by Abenójar Tungsten.

Geology and mining in the first person

Belén Torres, head of geology for the #ElMotoMiningProject, along with Ismael Solaz Alpera, showed the little ones the fascinating world of geology, the properties of tungsten and #scheelite, as well as other fluorescent minerals.

Static museum of mining machinery

Antonio Cueva González, head of management at ABT, guided the children through the static museum of mining machinery organized by #ConstruccionesMorenoNavas. There, they were able to observe up close the machinery currently used in an active mining operation and learn about the professions involved in this sector.

At Abenójar Tungsten, we reaffirm our social and educational commitment to the local community, supporting initiatives that promote knowledge, respect for the environment, and the value of our region’s mining heritage.
