Environment
El Moto leads a sustainable water use management program in collaboration with the Alcudia Valley Rural Development Group, thanks to European funds from Communities for Climate (C4C) and Ecolise.
As part of this environmental commitment, water quality control and bird monitoring campaigns are carried out in the area, thus reinforcing the protection of local ecosystems and the responsible use of natural resources.
Society
The El Moto mining project stands out for its close ties to the local community, promoting strong citizen participation through various social and cultural activities. This close relationship has contributed to generating high social acceptance, supported by both the population and local and regional authorities, and also enjoying the support of both major Spanish political parties.
Economy
The development of the El Moto project represents a key opportunity for the economic and social development of the region. Located in the municipality of Abenójar, in Castilla-La Mancha—an area severely affected by depopulation and with just 1.300 inhabitants—the project will not only contribute to population retention through the creation of quality employment, with an expected creation of up to 200 direct jobs and 500 indirect jobs, but will also foster the development of services throughout the region.
